With increasingly stringent global environmental regulations and the advancement of the "carbon neutrality" goal, the steel industry, as a key sector in terms of energy consumption and carbon emissions, is undergoing a profound green revolution. Cryogenic air separation equipment plays a dual role in this process: it is both the "power heart" for producing essential gases and a crucial node for achieving circular economy and reducing emissions and consumption.

In 2025, Nuzhuo took on a project for an established steel plant near Karachi, Pakistan, providing a compact modular cryogenic air separation unit. This unit achieved remarkable space utilization and a rapid installation and commissioning cycle, successfully being deployed within the limited old factory area. The new equipment not only ensured the stable supply of oxygen and nitrogen for the entire plant, but also significantly improved the argon production and purity through its outstanding argon production module, meeting the needs of the plant's new stainless steel refining process and achieving self-sufficiency in key gases, reducing reliance on external purchases and logistics costs. After the project was operational, the plant's comprehensive gas consumption decreased by more than 10%, becoming a benchmark case for the green upgrade of local traditional industrial facilities.Nuzhuo places particular emphasis on the extraction rate of argon gas and the recovery capacity of rare gases, which are crucial for enhancing the production economic benefits of special steels such as high-value-added stainless steel. At the same time, the company's innovative dynamic gas load tracking technology can automatically adjust the equipment capacity according to the real-time production rhythm of the steel mill (such as the periodic oxygen consumption peaks of blast furnaces and converters), avoiding energy waste and achieving "production on demand". Moreover, the equipment design fully considers the recovery of waste heat and the comprehensive utilization of cold energy, and can be integrated with the existing energy system of the steel mill, further reducing the overall carbon footprint of the factory.
The argon recovery unit is one of the important equipment for large-scale air separation plants. It uses the liquid nitrogen within the device to condense and liquefy the argon gas that has been vaporized from the storage tank, and then returns it to the storage tank. The carrier of this unit is an aluminum plate-fin heat exchanger unit.
