In deep cryogenic air separation units, the distillation tower is the core equipment that determines the purity, output and energy consumption of the products. The selection and design of the internal packing materials are like the intricate structure of the heart, directly affecting the gas-liquid mass transfer efficiency and the economic operation of the system. In recent years, with the mature application of structured packing technology, the traditional sieve plate tower is undergoing a profound "efficiency revolution".

Nuzhuo Gas fully understands the principle that "fillers determine efficiency". In the design of cryogenic air separation units, we do not merely stack high-efficiency fillers; instead, we offer system-level optimization solutions:

 

Precise simulation design: Utilizing professional software such as Aspen HYSYS, a fluid mechanics simulation (CFD) is conducted for the entire tower. This enables precise prediction of the separation performance and pressure drop of different fillers under various gas and liquid loads, eliminating the risk of "scaling effect".

 

Mixed packing configuration technology: To address the differences in gas-liquid composition and load in different sections of the tower (distillation section, rectification section, argon fraction extraction section), an innovative approach is adopted of using "regular packing + scattered packing" or combinations of different types of regular packing. For instance, in the feed section where the load fluctuates greatly, a packing with a larger flow rate is used; in the high-purity refining section, a mesh-wire corrugated packing with the highest separation efficiency is employed, achieving the optimal balance of overall performance and cost for the entire tower.

 

Strict liquid distributor design: The "shortcoming effect" of the packed tower lies in the initial distribution of the liquid. Nuozhuo adopts a multi-stage trough distributor + redistributioner design to ensure that the unevenness of liquid distribution at the top of the packing is less than 5%, which is the fundamental guarantee for the efficient operation of the packing.

 

Material and Surface Treatment: For low-temperature conditions, special corrugated aluminum alloy or stainless steel plates are selected. The surface undergoes hydrophilic treatment or special texture rolling to facilitate the uniform spread of the liquid film and enhance mass transfer.
