The condensation heat source comes from the oxygen-rich liquid air at the bottom of the tower. This liquid evaporates in the crude argon condenser and simultaneously provides reflux liquid for the crude argon tower. This is a major example of energy integration within an air separation unit.

This argon gas generator is highly dependent on the main tower. The stable operation of the crude argon tower is entirely dependent on the stable working conditions of the main tower. Once the quantity and composition of the argon fraction fluctuate, it will immediately affect the purity of crude argon, so the control is extremely complex.

This argon gas generator adopts a "dual-tower" structure. Modern large-scale air separation units often divide the crude argon tower into two parts and operate them in series to provide more theoretical plate numbers, ensuring more thorough deaeration while reducing the height of a single tower.
