Working Principle of Small Argon Production Plant
Small Argon Production Plant • Basic Principle: Liquefy the air, and separation is accomplished relying on the different boiling points of oxygen, nitrogen (and argon).
• Cold energy for air liquefaction: Air is first pressurized by a compressor. Then, an expander expands the gas to generate the majority of the cold energy needed by the air separation equipment. The rest of the cold energy is provided by the reflux gas in the fractionating tower.
• Air Separation: Within the rectification column, the rising gas and the falling liquid perform heat and mass transfer on the tower plates or packing. The nitrogen content in the rising gas becomes higher, and the oxygen content in the falling liquid gets higher.
